What children will practise

Practise ordering a describing sentence (She has two small white dogs), a past sentence (We visited the museum last Friday), a short story about a day in the park, and the steps of describing a person (ต 1.3 ป.5/1).

What's in the worksheet

4 ordering questions - She > has > two small white > dogs - We > visited > the museum > last Friday - It was a sunny day. > We went to the park. > We played football. > We went home tired but happy. - Say who they are > Describe how they look > Say what they are like > Say why you like them

How to use it in class

Use as a lead-in to describing a friend or family member, 4 minutes in solo mode. - Use item 4 as the real writing frame, one sentence per step - After item 3, ask what the first sentence does, so pupils see stories often open by setting the scene Play it linked to a class and the results go into the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Item 2: putting last Friday first, a habit from starting with the time; that order needs a comma, and this set puts time last - Item 4: swapping describe how they look and say what they are like - Item 3: putting It was a sunny day. last, not seeing it as the scene-setter
