How to start practising English vocabulary

Choose topics children meet in daily life, such as numbers, colours, classroom objects, or body parts. A topic may have several activities: preview the actual pages and pick the format that fits what you taught today, rather than choosing by topic name alone.

• Start with picture-to-word matching while pupils still need a cue.
• Move to missing letters or spelling choices to check word recognition.
• When ready, ask pupils to write words from pictures and revisit the ones they confuse.
